Joey Wampler

Pastor Joey Wampler was saved on September 12, 1995 at the age of twenty-one.  Shortly thereafter, he accepted God’s call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He faithfully served as minister of music at Northside Baptist Church of Gaffney, South Carolina, from 1999-2003 under his pastor, Dr. Edward McAbee.  Pastor Wampler was called as pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Spartanburg in July of 2003, where he served for the next five years. In 2008, he started Resurrection Baptist Church of Cowpens, South Carolina, and remained as pastor for thirteen years.  Presently, Pastor Wampler serves the congregation of Fundamental Baptist Church, and has done so since May of 2022.

Pastor Wampler is a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina. He studied at Victory Baptist College of North Augusta, South Carolina, earning a B.A. in Pastoral Theology. He later earned his M.A from the Believers Institute for Biblical Studies in Union, South Carolina.

A continual student of God’s Word, Pastor Wampler effectively communicates timeless truths to help individuals in their everyday lives. His desire is to reach others with the gospel of Jesus Christ, then assist them as they build their daily walk with our Lord and Savior.

He and his wife, Kelli, have been married since 2003. They are proud parents to their four children, Anna, Joseph, Levi, and Libbie.
